So, how can you join the class then?

We'll be using CelesteNet, a mod made by @0x0ade with the purpose of being able to see (and even interact with) other people online.

To be able to install this mod, first you'll need to install Celeste's modloader, Everest.

Scroll down to the Files section, and click on the "Manual Download" button.

Then, click on the Download Button that appears.

This will download an executable file (.exe). When you open it, you'll be greeted by the modloader's installer.

It should automatically detect the ubication of Celeste's installation. If it doesn't, and the first field is blank, you'll need to point it towards Celeste's folder.

After that, select the stable version that's closest to the top of the list. As I'm writing this thread, that's version 1958.

After you select it, hit Install and the installation process will begin. Now you can launch Modded Celeste, and it will be the default option.

When you open this version of Celeste for the first time, you'll get this prompt.

I don't know what happens for the other options, really, but I recommend picking the "I want to SPEEDRUN." option.

As I said, I don't know if this also happens with other options, but you'll be able to switch to the unmodded version of Celeste if you press right on the title screen.

This is crucial if you care about submitting your runs to the ranks, as you can't submit runs done on Everest.

Okay, so now you're done with the modloader installation!

This is the CelesteNet mod we'll be using to be together in the class.

The modloader we just installed allows for one-click installs. So if you click on any of these buttons (depending on the OS you're using), the Everest modloader should open and automatically install the mod.

You need to connect to the CelesteNet server in order to be able to play with people.

To do that, access the new main menu entry, Mod Options, and look for CelesteNet's options.

Before changing Connected to ON, change your nickname, and toggle interactions OFF. This last thing is crucial, unless you want to bounce off everyone that collides with you. It's fun, but you don't want to speedrun like that.

Did you know there are co-op maps that use this?

When you connect, you'll have an in-game chat room that you can use to talk to other peeps.

But the important part about this is that you can also use some commands.

The important command you should know is /tp.

If you do /tp Kaijanmeyer, you'll teleport to me!

One last thing you can do is install the Speedrun Tool.

It allows you to create savestates, but it can do much more, like room or segment timers.
