Part of me wants to point out that seminars are often rife with awkward social dynamics, online or offline, and that digital spaces are exacerbating this... but I also don& #39;t want to dismiss the discomfort their expressing about breakout rooms in particular...
Quick update. Just came out of a 2 hour seminar where we chatted in main room, used whiteboards, watched videos, debated, talked about our history, talked on mic & in the chat. No breakout rooms needed! It was engaged and fascinating... Might just phase out breakouts for a bit...
