So before I worked in museums I worked in schools. One time I was asked to sneak money onto prepaid cards to make sure two children could have 3 meals in school, because they came back after the holidays so dangerously underweight they could barely speak 1/

One time I was in the playground in the morning, and once my class were inside one of the mums fainted and hit her head. She hadn’t eaten a meal in a few days because there wasn’t enough for her and her daughter. Her daughter was inconsolable and thought it was her fault. 2/

One time I was trying to help a boy in my class. He was in a terrible mood, screaming and crying and hitting out. Hitting himself. Turns out he was hungry, and hadn’t eaten since his free school meal the day before. He ate half a loaf of breads worth of toast that morning. 3/

All of this was pre pandemic. Under the current Tory government, who are now defending their decision to not give children any support over the holidays. Make no mistake, kids will die because of this hatred
