For me the things about critic (positive and negative) is that it will always and never be objective as art is PURELY subjective, so it shouldn’t rly exist as an argument because in reality, what you are saying when you talk about criteria and things that you like/dislike
In reality you are implying « criteria that I prefer like this or that » which is just a way to make music go in the way YOU’d like to see the music, which (if you want total liberty in music) doesn’t make sense for me
Critics (again positive or negative) should be abolished as its flanges music liberty and creativity as an artist, for me you can form opinion but it shouldn’t be taken as something that have to orient the way you make music
And I think people doesn’t rly realize that if you want more creative dubstep (for example) criticism against dubstep that they don’t like and praying dubstep that they found creative will just once again orient the creative dubstep in mainstream
And then it will not be considered creative and other underground artist will take this title and the cycle continues endlessly..
So for me criticism, even formed in the nicest way possible and with good intention, will just lead to less creativity (which is not the intent of the one who critics) + it implies that you’re way of seeing art (music in this examples) is better than someone else.
