More western journalists have an idea of French political scenario and France as a country than they do of India. In any case French society and govt is aware enough that rampant misinformation will be quickly called out and the paper would be named and shamed. 2/n

Because of this an article on france is likely to be written with a lot more primary research than an article on India. This is why it's so easy for an Indian journalist to publish garbage in western newspapers if they are selling the "appropriate narrative" 3/n

And lastly but most importantly, a mostly white developed France is considered by western journalists as a lot more worthy of the truth, and journalistic respect than the "uneducated dirty brown hindoos"
And Indian journos dare not say anything to upset the foreigners.
