Have you ever really hated your boss and still worked for him anyway?

I'm lucky, I like my current boss. I have worked for some really shitty bosses in my time, though.

Let's talk about that.
Like many in "This part of Twitter" I suffer under unjust and illegitimate authorities.

And many people will go "Oh well you have to rebel against them! Fedpoast IRL now or you are just a cuck!"

These same people probably go to work every day for a boss they can't stand.
And this is the reality of authority. Even though they might be malicious or incompetent, that does nothing to change the reality that they're the ones in charge and there's an expectation that you need to do what they tell you to, within reason.
Hardly anybody is going to be sympathetic if you decide you're going to openly defy their orders and still stick around.

Regardless of how shitty your boss is, they're going to consider you even more of a nuisance, if you start behaving like that.
So, what do you do in such a scenario?

Well, there's 3 main options.
#1: You go somewhere else.

You get a job at another company, join another church, emigrate to another country.

Quite a lot of risk and expense with absolutely no guarantee it will improve things at all.
#2: You support a rival

Wherever there is a position of authority, there is someone else desperate to occupy it.

Therein lies opportunity. Perhaps this other person likes you better than the person currently in power, and they'll reward you if you support them.
Please note that this goes far beyond just "Voting for the other guy at the next election".

There are all sorts of means by which a rival can usurp the incumbent authority. Never be afraid to entertain more creative alternatives to winning an election, because your opponents do!
#3: Embrace the suck and cultivate the inner strength to tolerate your situation.

Sometimes there's nowhere good to run to, no rivals who will be preferable and rebellion will only make your life worse than grinning and bearing it.

And you just have to eat that shit sandwich.
While this is regarded as a very "passive" way to deal with a situation, I would content that cultivating inner strength is a very active course of action, indeed one that requires constant application of effort and discipline.
So, as the more astute of you have probably guessed, I am talking about "Your boss" in more than just a work context.

It can also refer to your government, or the head of your church.

Same dynamic applies, even if you think they're evil and stupid, they're still in charge.
And you have to find a way to deal with it, if it's something beyond your ability to change.
