Misogyny is still the most ignored form of hatred.

We are so behind in acknowledging, believing or tackling misogyny. We will never get to a place where we can change the world & make it safer for women and girls until we discuss misogyny like we do all other forms of hatred.

Misogyny is so belittled and ignored that, as a form of hatred and oppression, most people claim it doesn’t even exist.

That’s where we’re at with misogyny at the moment. The reason we can’t tackle it is because it’s not even acknowledged as real in some places

If you think this is a one-off, or made up, you clearly have no idea what women are sent on the internet and how women are talked about on the internet. In fact, I would suggest looking up Suzann Blacc’s work on violent porn.

I’m just one woman and I can show you real examples of violent shit I have been sent in the last 6 months which rival this post.

The way he talks about murdered women in this post is very informative - he objectifies them, hates them, sexualises them and enjoys the sadism.

We can’t keep doing this ‘avert your eyes!’ nonsense when it comes to misogyny. Yes it’s horrific. But the amount of people who respond to this sort of post by instantly claiming its fake or that we shouldn’t be showing it at all etc just shows how reluctant we are to discuss

With the amount of tech constantly monitoring us on the internet and social media - deleting and suspending accounts for saying things they deem ‘offensive’ - I would like to know if there is a team out there watching people like this

There are so many accounts of men that scream perp when you look at their comments, likes and shares. Sometimes when a guy has sent me abuse or something violent, I go and look at his posts and it’s so obvious that they are dangerous. And yet, we seemingly do nothing to monitor

So, if we talk about misogyny we get told we have no proof it exists

And if we provide proof we get told to take it down because it’s too harrowing/not real/faked/attention seeking
