A Short Thread on Valour of Rajputs of Jodhpur under Durgadas Rathor in Delhi.
On December,1678 Maharaja Jaswant Singh died at Jamrud.On hearing about death of Jaswant Aurangzeb brought whole of Jodhpur under direct Mughal control by appointing Muslim officers. (1)

After death of Jaswant Singh two of his Ranis gave birth of his sons in Lahore. Nobles of Jodhpur pleaded Aurangzeb to appoint Ajit Singh as Maharaja of Jodhpur but Aurangzeb orderd that Ajit Singh should be brought up in his harem. (2)

Aurangzeb offered Ajit Singh throne of Jodhpur only if he converted to Islam. He demanded surrender of Ajit Singh from Nobles of Jodhpur and placed gaurd around house of Ajit Singh to prevent his escape.Durgadas and other Nobles made a plan to save Ajit Singh. (3)

They pleaded to Aurangzeb for delay urging that Child was too young to be parted from his mother as Rathors weren't surrendering Child so Aurangzeb sent imperial guards to seize Ajit Singh and Ranis(4)

To save Ajit Singh and Ranis Rathors planned to sacrifice their own lives. Raghunath Bhatti a noble of Jodhpur with a hundred devoted troopers made a sortie from one side of mansion. Lance in hand,with faces grim as death,the Rathor heros rushed upon their foes.(5)

They ferociously attacked Mughals and this charge was so wild that mughals quailed,during this moment of confusion Duragadas slipped out with Ajit Singh and Ranis dressed in male attire and rode directly for Marwar.(6)

Meanwhile Raghunath kept on fighting Mughals for an hour and a half he dyed the streets of Delhi with his blood,but at last he fell with 70 of his comrades. (7)

After death of Raghunath Mughals finally started pursuit of Durgadas but by the time he was overtaken he had already covered 9 miles. When Mughals neared them Ranchhordas Jodha with small number of troops barred their path again. (8)

But even Ranchhordas Jodha wasn't able to stop mughals and they again appered near Rajputs,This time Durgadas sent Maharaja's family with 40 troops towards Jodhpur and himself stayed with 50 troops to check the advance of Mughals. (9)

He kept on fighting Mughals for an hour and finally cut his way out with 7 troops. By this time it was evening and because of three murderous conflict and long ride mughals were worn out so they abandoned the pursuit. (10)

Ajit Singh and Durgadas kept on fighting Mughals for next 27 years and finally liberated Jodhpur in 1708. Because of valour of Durgadas Bards pray that-
