As I'm sure you all know, sysmeds don't have much influence as of now due to their general incompetence. However, if we don't work to contain the sysmed shitccourse now, it WILL bite us in the ass later.

Here's a thread with some ideas on how to do so:

One idea we had is to make a general resource, similar to a carrd, about plurality in general that debunks sysmedicalism and explains plurality as a whole without mentioning sysmedicalism, without showing that claims like "systems can only originate from trauma" are beliefs that-

-exist and that people hold. This way, people reading the resource are less likely to seek out sysmeds in order see "their side" and reduces the chance of indoctrination. This will also make plural inclusivity the default response for readers of the resource, so that if/when-

-they run into sysmeds, they instinctively dismiss the sysmeds' claims and are armed with the knowledge to combat them. Spreading explicit positivity about systems that are common targets for sysmeds would also help. Note that this does not mean you always have to put these-

-systems at the forefront of a positivity post. For example, you can have a plural pride drawing of four systems waving flags relating to their system, one traumagenic, one parogenic, one endogenic, and one quoigenic. This sort of post allows explicit positivity for these-

-systems while not focusing solely on them and allowing for positivity for other system types as well.

One big problem we have to face in containing sysmedicalism is that most of the big DID YouTubers are sysmeds, meaning they have a lot of influence they could leverage if they-

-catch wind of this. This is why we also need to push inclusive plural systems, traumagenic and endogenic, into places of social influence in online communities. We also need to get people who already have a good amount of social influence on board with helping spread our-

-resource and/or positivity about plurality. All of this combined will hopefully spread awareness of the plural community and contain the sysmed shitcourse before it gets big. ~Charlie
