This is a thread that any of you Christmas haters out there might want to mute. I'll even hashtag it as #GeekyChristmas for you to make that easier 😂
For the last 6 years, we've had a bit of fun at Christmas, with geeky themed trees. As we gear up for 2020, here's a recap:
6 years ago:
We started small, with a little wee #StarWars themed tree. The boys thought it was lots of fun though, so for the next year we decided to go big.

So 5 years go, we went with one my favourite fandoms, and had a #DoctorWho themed tree. I even have photos somewhere of Mr 9 (then Mr 4) helping to paint our 'scary fairy' as he called the Weeping Angel topper we made. He loved her so 😂
#GeekChristmas
4 years ago the boys chose the theme, so it was a Minecraft Christmas. It was kind of ridiculously fun impaling a cardboard Steve on the top of the tree 😂 The boys really loved making the decorations for this one.

3 years ago we were most definitely in a #HarryPotter phase. I even knitted mini scarves! And our awesome Twitter Secret Santa that year made us amazing decorations to add too 😍

2 years ago, it was the boys turn to fall in love with #DoctorWho, as they watched it for the first time and adored the 13th Doctor. So we revisited the Doctor Who tree again, with added 13th Doctor goodness 😁 To date, it is the only theme we've done twice.

And a year ago, Halloween met Christmas, as both the boys were obsessed with #NightmareBeforeChristmas.
We listened to the soundtrack while we decorated the tree, so much fun!

So that brings us to this year...
And our #LegoChristmasTree,
which at this stage is a work in progress. We do start getting organised around now, as it takes a while to plan, gather and make the decorations, and we like to get the tree up at the beginning of December so we can enjoy it as much as possible.
So watch this space! And sorry for the long thread. This has just been SUCH a year, and it nearly broke us. So I'm reclaiming some happy, cause I don't know about you guys, but we need it! And hey, if you've had your own #GeekChristmas trees, pretty please share the love 😍
