TDE President Punch revealed that him & Kendrick requested Andre 3000 to appear on Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe. Due to Andre's filming schedule for the Jimi Hendrix biopic, he was unable to record his verse.
Kendrick hinted he wanted to direct a short film based on the album.

At Kendrick's request, Joseph Khalil filmed a 15 min video around Compton. It was only shown at an art museum & has floated online since.

In 2017, Kendrick revealed that it took him over a year to write Sing About Me/ I'm Dying of Thirst.
Before GKMC, the last West Coast album that had gone platinum was The Game- The Documentary, nearly 8 years prior. Both projects were released by Aftermath & executive produced by Dr. Dre.
m.A.A.d stands for My Angry Adolescence Divided & My Angels on Angel Dust. It's also been rumored to be a nod to WC & the Maad Cirlce, an early 90s LA Hip Hop group.
Cartoon & Cereal was released leading up to the album, but couldn't be included due to sample clearances. The track remains a cult classic among longtime Kendrick's fans.
The skits & voicemails featured on the album were indeed his parents, Paula Oliver & Kenny Duckworth.
During N.W.A's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction speech Kendrick revealed that Ice Cube- AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted was the blueprint he used to make GKMC.
Although it's the closing track, Compton featuring Dr. Dre was the first track recorded for the album.
