Who benefits from the coordinated arson, looting, and general chaos of yesterday? Who benefits from the coordinated spread of fake news in the last few days?
Government? I doubt!
Our government is silly, yeah, but there appears to be a lot more at play. Everyone needs to chill!
We will have enough time to review the events of these past weeks, but for that to happen, the chaos of yesterday can't continue. Well-meaning citizens need to wait, hold off the anger, let tensions wane, and then chart the way forward.
Passion without strategy and understanding of our current context mixed with anger and grief won't help us as a people, we can't afford to play into the hands of wicked schemers.
Our goal is a better life for us as Nigerians, not to die or to burn the country down. We all have to be responsible now.

To deliberately tone down tensions now doesn't make us weak, it makes us wise and discerning.
Change is not a sprint, it is a marathon.
If we will actually get sustainable change, we have to do a lot of reorientation. We have to be taught to value human life as a nation, ordinary citizens, military, police, etc.
