i was looking at photos of kaeya when i realized something that not a lot of people talk about enough:

why does his pupil look like that? (1/?)
first of all: points of comparison. here are some other characters in the genshin impact webcomic. notice how they all have normal eyes. even the TRAVELER has normal eyes (2/?)
at first i speculated: well, maybe he's an archon? but no: look at how the known archons have been drawn. perfectly normal as well, so that begs the question: what *is* kaeya? (3/?)
on the wiki, it says there are two characters that share these diamond-shaped pupils: dainsleif, and the unknown god. personally, i find the unknown god part a little more concerning ... but we'll get back to dainsleif later (4/?)
diamonds are present in a lot of parts in genshin, one of the most notable ones being paimon's hair accessory(?). but where else are they present? take a look at the amount of diamond shapes on dainsleif and kaeya's clothes. this is too specific to be coincidence (5/?)
i only noticed this while making the thread, but it's weird how dainsleif has an eyepatch as well- and it just so happems to be covering the same eye as kaeya. (6/?)
i know as much as you do about the unknown goddess, so i can't say much about her. so we're gonna focus on dainsleif

there isn't much information to go off of, but according to the wiki, he's from "khaenri'ah." where else did we hear this? (7/?)
[ SPOILERS ]

kaeya is an agent of khaenri'ah. the place itself has little to no information, but the second photo has info on what is known so far. "the hidden corners where the gods' gaze does not fall", and tales of a heroic king.... (8/?)
[ SPOILERS ]

"this is your chance. you are our last hope."

last hope for *what*? for khaenri'ah? or is it for something more sinister? (9/?)
[ SPOILERS ]

this is just me theorizing now, but i want to put emphasis on this part of the story of kaeya's vision. "to fulfill his mission"- is this mission referring to his father's?

"if khaenri'ah and mondstadt went to war, which side should he support?" (10/?)
taken from dainsleif's introduction:

"the future must atone for bygone mistakes, as the bond familiar falters and breaks."

does this have something to do with kaeya as well? is *he* the future that will atone for his father's mistakes? (11/?)
well, who knows. after all, this is currently just speculation and some analysis, so we'll see if some of this is right eventually ^^;;)

thank you for sticking with me til the end of this thread !! hope you enjoyed, and i hope this can lead to more theories too !! (12/13)
