January 23rd in 2014 Sandro Rosell resigned as president of FC Barcelona with immediate effect and named the vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu as his successor as president until 2016.
The next President elections were supposed to be in summer 2016 but in January 2015 during a boardroom crisis and an alleged break up wid Lionel Messi and Luis Enrique after a shock defeat to Sociedad Bartomeu announced that the elections would be held after the end of the season
And what happened, a miracle. Barca went on to win all 3 trophies and finished the season winning the 2nd treble in club's history. Becoming the only team in history to win it twice.
Bartomeu won the elections by a landslide with former President Joan Laporta finishing second.
And that treble turned out to be very costly for the club. Because ever since Barca has been just downhill. There has been great moments, trophies and glory.

But the problems behind the team were always visible.

Poor planning, useless signings, moving away from the basic Barca style and neglecting foundations such as La Masia. Joan Laporta left a perfect team and a sporting heritage for Sandro Rosell who got it for free but Rosell & Bartomeu duo have destroyed it totally. @victor_font
News about crime suspects nd scandals around d Barca board are now more common than the news about the sporting success. There is no project, there is no style, there is no ideology jst panic signings nd continous changes in d management when trying to fix the mess.
And today, Barca as a team on the pitch reflects totally to the board who are leading the club. Valverde, Setien, Koeman, no one can fix this mess. This team needs a total turnover and a new board before any improvement can start to happen. We need elections now.
