In a national televised address earlier this evening, the Prime Minister said the government will soon lift the special emergency decree imposed earlier to help ease the political climate while urging that the row can be resolved through dialogue.
Following the recent unrest, Prime Minister and Defence Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha today spoke to the nation highlighting the role of the government in leading, uniting and protecting all Thais from ill-intentioned forces to ensure safety, equality and a fair justice…
…system.
The Prime Minister also said that it is not realistic to govern the country based on demands from protesters, and urged protesters to resolve this dispute through dialogue under the rule of law.
The Premier asked all sides to take a step backwards to carefully think about the best course for the Kingdom, while underlining the importance of the three pillars of the Thai Society which are the principles that make Thailand unique: The nation, the religion and the monarchy.
The Prime Minister stressed that the voices of the protesters have been heard, resulting in the extraordinary parliamentary session which will likely take place on Oct 26 and 27th….
The PM also mentioned the possibility of lifting the special emergency decree soon, if the protests are peaceful, to help ease the tension and to show the sincerity of the government to the people.
