2. But first! Here's why it's crucial to flip the Texas House: The 2020 census informs legislative districts. This is how gerrymandered districts happen. To stop Republicans, Democrats need one chamber. For the House, they need to flip 9 seats. They have a SHOT at a dozen.
3. So now, back to Schaefer. He got slightly internet famous last year after massacres in El Paso and Permian Basin left dozens of Texans dead. Schaefer declared universal firearm background checks were bad and said the appropriate legislative remedy for gun violence was prayer.
4. Schaefer was ratioed and widely mocked. But this year, of course, he has the endorsement and backing of Texas Governor and fellow Republican Greg Abbott.

6. @Julie4Texas has a shot. In fact, she doubled Schaefer's fundraising in Q3. He raised less than $15K. She raised $30K.
