Partisan politics aside, the idea of a 62 percent tax rate in the United States is literal batshit insanity. Even more insane is the fact that people will call this country the “land of opportunity” at the same time they are calling for literally penalizing success.

The land of opportunity! Where you can work hard & be successful & make money! Then we take it & if you try to keep it you will be arrested & no you can’t know exactly what we’re going to use it for ugh just cuz it’s your money that doesn’t make how we spend it your business

PS: The money isn’t even spent with the needs of ~the people~ in mind. It’s spent however the special interest groups and/or the war machine say it should be spent because the people in power want to stay in power. It’s bullshit; it’s grand-scale manipulation; wake the fuck up.
