My kingdom for an Army think-tank that would mandate having a junior Soldier or leader in the back of the room whose sole purpose is to raise their hand and identify huge problems with the big-picture stuff they're working on.
"Hey uhh you made BLC mandatory for promotion but BLC is online & my infantry platoon is currently sharing one laptop among 45 people. What do?"
"You rolled out a cool new tank without verifying that the recovery platforms have the lift capacity to pick them up when tankers break them"
"You put hand release push-ups in the ACFT but I'm breastfeeding and slamming my chest on the ground is giving me mastitis"
"You're making us sign for JLTVs and turn in all our HMMWVs but the HMMWV trailers are incompatible with the JLTVs. How do I get everything to the field in one lift? What's the turn in process?"
"We're not MTOEd NCOs for all our support vehicles but your installation made it mandatory to have NCO TCs anytime we operate the vehicle. How do we do multiple LOGPACs?"
"You're requiring additional certifications for our ammo and fuel personnel outside of their AIT training that is not supported by local or federal regulations. Do you like bureaucracy or is it just the thought of more paperwork that gets you hot and bothered?"
"Your Financial Readiness training at IET focuses on the TSP instead of showing me why buying a Charger at 29% APR is a bad idea."
"Everyone knows it's an inevitability that my pay will get jacked up but do you think my renting agency will understand when I tell them 'but that backpay is gonna be sweeet'?"
"You created GEARS but didn't make it mandatory for all FORSCOM units. How many pieces of paperwork do I need to just go on fucking leave, bro?
"You have created an organization that cannot operate without the implementation of Borrowed Manpower, but have done nothing to change the MTOE to support a BDE staff. Do you like pain?"
"You have given installations so much discretion on standards and requirements that every time we PCS we have to recertify our UPLs, Armorers, EOLs, SHARP reps, RSOs, MGs, etc. Why don't you just make the standard Army-wide to cut down on troop school requirements?"
"You consistently have AIT instructors telling trainees that they'll learn the right way at their first unit, then drown line units in taskings so that development never occurs. You're surprised when we have undeveloped juniors and junior NCOs. Why?"
"You hold inatallation-wide sensing sessions then get mad when units send people who will bring up issues. Do you want to get better or do you just want people to think you want to do better?"
"You keep talking about modernization but have done nothing to make SSA operations more streamlined. Don't say we're like Amazon if you're gonna require us to process parts with 5 extra steps that eat up manpower and more paperwork."
"You want to make a concerted effort to eliminate corrosives in the Army, and do that by holding a forum filled with straight white cis men with wives and kids. What's up?"
"You have mandated that we can only buy Class 2 items using GPC cards, despite the fact that you know GPC card requests sit at the MICC for a minimum of 3 months. How do I buy cleaning supplies to respond to the next batch of COVID cases? Should I go out of pocket? Pls advise."
"You stress the importance of taking care of our physical health but the Physical Therapy MTOE for a BCT of ~4500 people is 5 medical personnel. Should I keep rucking 6x a month until my appointment in 5 weeks?"
"You have made muscular strength and fitness a cornerstone of the ACFT but still punish Soldiers for going to the gym during PT hours. How many bodyweight exercises do I need to do in the parking lot in order to deadlift 300lbs?"
"Do you think I can write off a home gym on my taxes? Also how do I do my taxes? The financial training i got just talked about the Blended Retirement System and the importance of the TSP."
