2/3 Sheriff Villanueva seems to be saying deputies confused her w protestors or targeted her b/c she was covering them. Then he says: “She was arrested first, then, after she was being handcuffed, decided to claim she was a reporter.” Claim? She is a reporter- my colleague @SPJLA

3/3 Video shows her yelling "reporter" during the arrest. Is the sheriff saying she didn't do it fast enuf so she lost her #FirstAmendment rights? He did say the deputies could have been more "patient. Were there mistakes made on both sides? Yes." The DA said it was a bad arrest.
