It appears to be that time of year when I need to remind all of you that voter rolls are public and can be downloaded for free in many states, and in almost every other state is anyone can buy them.

This is why most states – including ones run by democrats – did end up giving the Trump voter fraud commission their public Voter role. Because it’s public information. Anyone can ask for it, and anyone can get it.

This is why, in my training sessions with other journalists, I tell them to use words that are far more specific than “obtain,” which could mean almost anything.
