Today we hit 200 new cases per day (by date reported to the media), but still below 200 per day (by date reported to the Health Authority). Am I glad that we don't have exponential growth in BC!
Testing has issues too. Provincially reported positivity rates are uninterpretable right now with an number of private routine asymptomatic tests being included. A more robust but still fraught definition for positivity rate is cases per people tested. And it doesn't look good.
BC's case growth is still very much a Fraser Health story. We don't have useful geographic breakdowns, but chances are that the growth is also spatially heterogeneous within Fraser, and select sub-regions feel the brunt of this. Really hoping someone is looking into this...
And we are slacking off on testing, we are testing significantly fewer people now than we were just a month ago. Thats the wrong direction to go.
