Guys complaining about the Trump-Biff gags in today’s HTD. Pretty sure Zemeckis & Co. Are on the record that Alt ‘85 Biff is intentionally based on Trump. Not making those jokes would basically be malpractice. Also he’s a huge piece of shit and I’ll take ever shot I got.

While the plot of back to the future turns on time travel, the conflict is between kind of Man Vs. Self- it’s an internal conflict of what kind of “man” Marty is or will become. The movie couldn’t be more clear: Biff is a Bully, and Marty COULD go that way

and the movie portrays Bully’s as being, without a doubt, “bad”. Biff is a brute who assaults anyone in his way, abuses people into doing his work for him, and attempts to rape Loraine. Original 1985 Marty HATES Biff, but

he also hates his dad for not being a bit like Biff, because a Biff would standup to a Biff, and wouldn’t be pushed around or taken advantage of by a Biff. A Biff has “confidence”. So Marty goes back to 1955 and

tries to push his dad towards what he perceives to be a more “Biff-like” nature. This backfires, because Biff doesn’t have confidence, he has bravado, and Loraine hates Biff for this- the false Bravado on George puts loraine off too. In every century Biff gets

buried in shit to illustrate as directly as possible that Biff is full of shit. He’s a wimp, as evidenced by the altered 1985 at the end of BTTF. Marty now sees the difference between confidence and bravado. He goes on to not race Needles

to avoid a gun fight with MadDog. The entire conflict in these films is down to being a complete piece of shit like Biff or not. I didn’t make them political with a dumb video about kids spiking a punch bowl.

These movies became political when a huge segment of the population got suckered into thinking swagger and bravado was confidence, success, and masculinity. Biff’s sad feeble excuses about the second coat of wax on the truck are supposed to tell you all you need know about that.

There was nothing political about Back to The Future at all until we put Biff in the White House.
