1-When I was a teenager my father lost his job one December. He ended up having to work abroad alone as no work in the UK but the first wage packet wasn't until January and no benefits allowed. We only had food on the table because of my grandmother.
2 - Oh and our credit cards were maxed out because we'd been living off them. Why do people think it is OK not to sub people food when they are in trouble? Do we really think it is OK in the 21st C to let children starve?
3 -if you are involved in a project to help prevent #holidayhunger tell us more. Let's spread the word about people who do care and who are helping and let's turn the anger and disgust into cash and food and help to those who need it.
Actually it probably wasn't December when he lost his job, but things were getting really really bad by then. I can't remember exact dates. It was a horrible time I'd rather forget and it upsets me that anyone else would have to go through that.
