How your ballot gets counted in Maricopa County - a thread.

It starts with you, obviously. You fill it out. You *sign* the envelope. That cannot be stressed enough #vote #Election2020
If you don’t sign at all, you have until the end of Election Day to fix it. If you sign it, and the signature doesn’t match up, you have until a little after Election Day to fix it. Either way, signature verification starts in this room. Two people verify it before a final audit
Watchers selected by both the Democratic Party and Republican Party look on
Once the signature is verified, your envelope goes to this room. 100 or so people are making sure the the envelope and your ballot match - there are 1800 unique ballots in Maricopa County
Ever wonder why you’re told not to use red pen? It’s because the voting machine can’t read it, but they use it in that room up there to mark off and make sure the ballot and envelope matches. If it does, it’s off to tabulation
More than 748,000 ballots have already come in. @MaricopaVote calls, texts, emails, and snail mails people if there’s a problem with their signature. Less than 1% of ballots aren’t counted because of those mistakes
They’ve started counting the ballots as of yesterday. If you want to make sure your vote is counted in that first batch of results released at 8 pm on election night, you should have your ballot in or early vote in person by the end of the month
