The reason Pakistanis are less obsessed with Indians is because Pakistan has always allowed more or less free flow of art from the Indian side. India has not been an unknown entity in Pakistan the way Pakistan is in India.

This has resulted in Pakistan being overall less militant towards India, even indifferent. India didn’t even figure in our political propaganda (till IK came along and started calling the opposition leader an Indian agent & kept peddling a clearly ignorant take on Bollywood).

When I say ‘Pakistan’ I mean the Pakistani people at large, not institutions that might benefit from hate mongering.

Freedom and lack of censorship is always a better idea in the end even if it feels counterintuitive in the beginning.
