Oh neat! It’s international pronouns day! I’m agender and genderqueer but I usually prefer she/her pronouns because I think they tell people more about how living in patriarchy has screwed me up. But I also like they/them pronouns especially from people who don’t know me well. https://twitter.com/LGBTfdn/status/1318854598136877057
Important to remember that pronouns and gender aren’t as related as we treat them! You can use the pronouns you like best, no matter what gender you are. There have been cis women (usually lesbians) using he/him for decades and there’s no reason to feel tied down.
What’s important about pronouns is that they make YOU feel comfortable and respected when people address you with them. And important not to think you know someone’s gender just because you know their pronouns. Pronouns are just how people want you to address them.
