There is nothing more infuriating in the VC & startup world then when investors use women for their little inclusion branding, but don't actually invest. Instead, they ghost, block & then talk about how we *need* to increase female funding because it's low. I mean...

If anyone can fix it, is the people running the funds. I feel that despite clear bias, classism, racism, sexism - investors, especially VCs expect founders somehow to "fix" their issue.

Last year we attempted to raise a small round. I say attempted because we were blind-sighted by the whole experience & the fuckary of it all. I've never been ghosted as I have in this process. It's just rude and frankly dehumanising.

And then you see all these depressing female founder reports, investment percentages and fucking circular conversations that just keep going "but how do we fix it waaah waaah" without anyone ever reaching out. Legit, only like 5 investors reached out to me on their own volition.

We are tackling a huge market, real problem, a bottleneck in consumer & health space - the opportunity is hot. We did our diligence, but guess what - we are not in the fold. We are common ass people with no fancy connections. But we hustle. You r here on this tweet cause of it.

I am genuinely tired of VC sector stroking its ego on inclusion while doing the least. And I am tired of expectations put on us, as well as how we as female founders who speak up "get low key branded" for being direct - while men are seen as these exciting disruptors etc

It legit affects my well-being. Startup world is a SMALL space. SMALL. The moment you are close to the investor circle - they all know each other. They went to same schools, internships, dinners, whateverthefuck. We are all on same social networks, conferences, panels etc.

So when you keep seeing these discussions about "how we should support women" and yet AGAIN, and AGAIN, the percentages are same, PR is the same, people who get funded are the same, & you just sit there wondering WTF, it takes a little toll on your sanity.

So, VCs, investors - if you want to improve your female stats & stop these circular "but what do we do" convos after every darn report comes out, and instead have a real 1-to-1 about what this female founder is doing, hit me up: [email protected]

Let's solve this problem together. You have bad female stats, we will potentially need money down the line. Let's stop playing polite and build a relationship for real. None of that "how can I be of help" crap that never pans out, or politics or clout dances.

If you are into growth without destruction, have some patience and taste for long term strategy, have conviction & a strong desire to fix the pains of the world, I am sure together, we can do it.
