in all seriousness, I feel absolutely awful for all the creators and artists who were taking a swing in a new mode of storytelling and I really hope a) they got theirs re: payment + IP ownership and b) their stories are able to thrive elsewhere
but a bunch of entertainment establishment execs spending billions of dollars trying to make on-the-go bite size fiction storytelling and taking that risk happily while trying to get me to make a fully designed, large cast podcast they would own forever for less than 100k...well.
I want the industry to take risks. I want us to try the wackiest shit possible, no matter how many twitter jokes people make, because that& #39;s what art is for - taking the big swings. and each medium has it& #39;s own pros and cons but I& #39;d love to see this energy brought to fic pods
(fwiw this is exactly why TBS spin-offs exist on Luminary. to date, they are the only company I& #39;ve met that will a) give me a budget big enough to pay my collaborators a fair and decent wage, b) let me do wacky shit and c) let me do my thing (and own my thing) as a creator)
