*looks at the extremely flexible and portable medium I work in*

oh, wait a second-
in all seriousness, I feel absolutely awful for all the creators and artists who were taking a swing in a new mode of storytelling and I really hope a) they got theirs re: payment + IP ownership and b) their stories are able to thrive elsewhere
but a bunch of entertainment establishment execs spending billions of dollars trying to make on-the-go bite size fiction storytelling and taking that risk happily while trying to get me to make a fully designed, large cast podcast they would own forever for less than 100k...well.
I want the industry to take risks. I want us to try the wackiest shit possible, no matter how many twitter jokes people make, because that's what art is for - taking the big swings. and each medium has it's own pros and cons but I'd love to see this energy brought to fic pods
(fwiw this is exactly why TBS spin-offs exist on Luminary. to date, they are the only company I've met that will a) give me a budget big enough to pay my collaborators a fair and decent wage, b) let me do wacky shit and c) let me do my thing (and own my thing) as a creator)
