Been meaning to do this for years so here we go...

Re-watching the show that changed TV as we know it to see if it still holds up in 2020!

I'll be updating this thread with my random thoughts/sub-zero temperature takes 16 years after the show aired.
Lots has already been said about the Lost pilot episode(s) before but I'm always going to love the first few seconds of the show.

Straight away they hit us with the mystery of why a random suit dude is in the middle of the jungle.
Even Jack is all "Aw man, did I drink too much?"
Everything about the crash site still hits so hard. We get our long run up to the beach, nice long shot of the water, then everything after that is hundreds of individual shots of like 1-2 seconds a pop, each one a sneak peak of our cast of characters stuck in their own drama.
Also if anyone has played any of my TTRPG scenarios that include an Airship crash can trace their influence back to this scene :D

Set a scene with lots of folk in need at once, drop players in there and make them prioritise who they save. Golden drama every time.
Incredible shot, but I've never understood who in their right mind would walk this far to an active turbine...

Zero self preservation skills.
If you pause here, you can see the exact moment Boone realises that dealing with Shannon is going to be A WHOLE THING.
Also, we stan Hurley in this thread. So clearly out of his comfort zone and still trying his best to be a kind and generous. The island didn't deserve him.
