Seeing those previous RTs appear on my timeline got me thinking.

I cannot begin to tell you how many young women, hoping to work in sports have contacted me over the years to ask about my career path and advice. Sometimes they almost feel like 'how can I even do this like you?'
My first piece of advice, nearly always is, don't let others stand in your way. When you're being doubted by those around you, you have to dig deep to find that belief in yourself, because it will happen.

While I've been lucky that a lot of things have worked out great for me..
.. there have been moments of extreme doubts. Moments, when I first started, that I barely asked questions in the locker room for fear of 'asking the wrong question' or 'was that question good enough'.

I remember once asking an established woman in the business what clothes I
should wear to make sure I'm 'doing this right'.

Now somehow, I'm in a position where I'm offering that advice to young women. I think back to a message I sent a young woman just the other day, and typing out the words "Know your worth" because I surely didn't know mine at first
Anyways, all that to say, if I can be a help to any young women wanting to get into the business, I really try to answer as many messages as possible.

I'm lucky to have eventually landed in a place where I'm valued and feel that way every day.

I'm lucky like that now.
The "know your worth" part, that's all part of feeling like you're being isolated, not getting the same opportunities to grow, to develop your skills.

Man, 'know your worth' is literally like telling young women don't let those around you take advantage of you.
