As we enter another 6 week lockdown we will be relying on the internet more than ever to stay connected. It is our duty to ensure our online spaces are as safe and welcoming as possible for all students.
Some inappropriately sexual and aggressive posts have been brought to our attention recently which are compromising the safety of our community. We are calling on all contributors to @NUIGconfessions to stop and reflect before submitting their post.
Ask yourself:
-Will my post make somebody else feel uncomfortable?
-Has the person I'm posting about consented to being a part of the conversation I am about to start?
-Will my post prevent this online space from being a safe and accessible place for all?
We at NUIG Feminist Society welcome all students, staff, and admins to commit to ensuring our online community is a safe space for all who may need it over the next few weeks and into the future.
