Today is #PronounsDay! Here's a thread on what you need to know about pronouns ⬇️
Pronouns can be as diverse as genders. Here are some examples of commonly-used pronouns:

▪️she/her/hers
▪️ze/zem/zeir
▪️he/him/his
▪️they/them/theirs
▪️and many more

Avoid assuming someone’s pronouns based off of your perception of their gender.
Not all people of the same gender or gender identity use the same pronouns.
We may use different pronouns with different people (like how we may go by different names or nicknames in different situations).
Our pronoun use can change over time, because we all grow and how we understand ourselves can grow too.
Remember: Pronouns ≠ Gender!
It’s important that we normalize opportunities to share our pronouns. It can be as simple as saying your name and following it up with: “I use ______ pronouns.”
It’s also important to accept that not everyone will be comfortable sharing their pronouns and that’s okay too! No one should be forced to share their pronouns.
Asking about others’ pronouns if we are unsure is a respectful thing to do.
We make mistakes sometimes! Correct yourself quickly and move on to avoid drawing too much attention to yourself and what you did.
Some action items for inclusive pronoun use:
✅ Include pronouns in your email signature
✅ Introduce yourself with your pronouns
✅ Ask others what pronouns they use
All of us can work together to create a world with a deeper understanding of the diversity of gender and where everyone feels comfortable and included.
