If I haven’t been clear: MY KID HAS SET THE SITE BLOCKER TO BLOCK THE WORD “BLOCK”
Me at the moment of realization.
BUT, parental pride aside, as Doctor Spock puts it, “this shit cannot stand.” So I put on my Internet Man hat to solve the problem. I can’t change the password, but I can uninstall the app; I know this because THAT IS WHAT MY KID DID.
The problem is, that sets us up for another go-round: I reset, she resets, and on we go as long as we’re using this computer. Yes, I can go yell a lot and wield the Hammer of Punishment, but the whole point of this activity was to help her with a problem, not to Smite Mightily.
(also, the people who point to Yelling and Punishment as solutions tend to be people who Yell and Punish a lot, and they can F merrily off with that authoritarian noise, I’m problem-solving here)
Then I realize the solution is dumb. I’m acting like I’m locked into this computer, but all I have to do is log into my own email (so it’s in the same window), set all changes to be approved from that account, and boom, problem solved!

Except it’s not, is it?
