By "Cult of Conservatism" I mean the belief Christianity can only be expressed through American, Christian, values - with an important emphasis on the word "American". This is prideful, dangerous, and evil - with an important emphasis on the word "evil".

We have made the Bible an American book. We have made Christianity an American faith. And the fact that the world views us as supporters of one of the most damaging leaders in the modern age should be a sign that this American faith is abjectly evil.

For christians this election should not be about choosing one candidate or the other. It should be about shutting up for once and examining who we are as a community and as The Church. People like Matt Walsh are actively damaging the church and are an abomination (Matt 16:23).

If you have "man's interests" at heart and feel like you need to vote Jesus back into culture; remember you're Peter in the garden, waving his sword around uselessly. I urge you to turn away from men like this who will do nothing but puff themselves up to the detriment of us all.

As a small ammendment, this thread is not meant to discourage voting. Please go vote! My main concern is that the church realises we are in a precarious position and that we should self-evaluate before moving forward.
