In reality, these people’s agenda has won. Catholicism is primarily an outlet to dehumanize and divide using homosexuality and abortion. The grift eventually becomes obvious. Mature people quietly move away from the Church. https://twitter.com/catholicsat/status/1318933528982192128
The irony of the Catholic obsession over LGBT and abortion is that as spiritually mature people leave the church, many find this separation leads to a deeper union with God. Once one leaves and stops obsessing over these issues their heart opens. Suddenly the gospels resonate.
There’s not a lot I have full confidence about in my parenting journey, but one is pulling my kids from Catholic education at age 7 and 5. We just left, no fuss. It helped that I was also on a personal journey to deepen my relationship with the Divine.
I was able to provide an example of union with the Divine through open heartedness toward humanity. That’s a fancy way of saying I began to see everyone was okay underneath it all. God’s sun shines on all. The church couldn’t give that to my kids. In fact they focus on division.
Not that I am a saint and don’t feel divided over behaviors. I do. Daily. Yet I’m always able to return to soul work. We all are fine under the layers. I had to find that myself through the help of Catholic mystics and teachers. The current church is unable to teach this.
The Catholic Church has produced amazing people and saints and mystics and teachers. Interesting that those who gave me the most were typically rejected and sent to the fringes when alive, even today they are treated like interesting “unicorns” by mainstream.
It’s easier for a church to divide than it is to seek unity. It doesn’t ask much of a church to take a position of rejection and condemnation.

Love and acceptance. Those are the path less traveled. I chose this.
