It’s not lost on me that people are *regularly* fired because they are sex workers, have done porn or taken suggestive photos for Instagram outside of work, have nudes leaked in revenge porn, etc etc. That’s considered entirely normal.

Nobody defends someone who gets fired for having an OnlyFans outside of work or a Fetlife profile. Hell, people get fired for breaking a dress code! Being late! Sharing political opinions on social media!

But apparently you can literally jack off *in front* of your coworkers *at work* and that’s ok as long as you’re Jeffrey Toobin.

People are afraid to disclose their disabilities or need for accommodations because they know they could get fired. People are in fear that their admission of a mental illness online could ruin their career. The quadruple standard is absolutely ridiculous.

In the BDSM community people are regularly advised never to use real names, at consensual events for adults, because they could be fired or have child custody threatened. Even at brightly lit, fully clothed classes in a freaking conference center or college.
