As I learned more about Peter Thomas, his RAF exploits and the awful situation for Dawn @DawnSunrise1 I wanted to share about it to help the fundraising so it lead to this short video:
It has been seen 615 times now and brought a grown man to tears so please watch it with a tissue ready if you haven't seen it!

Then of course along comes #COVID19 and the scandal of those with dementia in care homes suffering more from the lack of visits than from the risk of the virus itself with sensible measures by care home staff and the visitors!
Dawn has already had to lie to her dad about his....

..home, his legacy for his kids, and he will never know that it has now been sold to pay the huge care home fees involved for both parents.
But now there is the added guilt felt as the parents of those like Dawn, are critical of those that love them for not .....

.. visiting, unable to understand the lockdown limitations!

The care home fees issue is hugely controversial with many strong arguments that funding for free care has been denied intentionally by cash strapped councils bending the qualifying criteria.

In my opinion veterans such as Peter Thomas, once decorated by the Queen, should never have to pay for social care as his daughter Dawn is now having to do for him.

I had been unaware of this campaign and I felt more action was needed to support the cause for free social care for people that we regard as worthy in this country - such as a forces veteran or anyone in the emergency services.

I am now very appreciative of the hard work involved in pushing awareness of a petition such as that run now by @Help4VeteransUK, started by @TrevorCoultMC.
Theirs is deserving and needing your support to force our Government to act.

... as I had became a supporter of the @alzheimerssoc campaign for #fixdementiacare to bring free social care for all, and I felt that for the respected subset of society mine references, it might get to the 10000 signatures needed to trigger a government response.

... frankly there is not a cat in hells chance of that happening in any reasonable timeframe it seems as I'm appreciating the amount of time and effort needed to get the message out in front of the right audience even with the help of others retweeting.
So...

.. whilst I may find more mental stamina to keep at it, I will simply close with a request that YOU please consider helping me to help Dawn though my fundraising, and to support the other campaigns that I have mentioned in need of signatures or some small donation.
