"the professor didnt insult anybody" except that word is highly offensive & harmful coming from anyone who isn't black. doesn't matter if you don't think it's harmful or you didn't "mean it" like that. you're not who gets to decide if your use of the word is acceptable.

"people were quite aggressive on social media" yes and that word is also incredibly aggressive, when spoken by anyone who isn't black, especially a white person. it's so easy to just not say that word. just keep it out of your goddamn mouth.

"we have to be able to talk about the word to educate people" fine. talk about it. but don't use it. it's super easy. notice how that one word hasn't appeared once in this thread where it's what i'm talking about? it's possible i promise.

these people just want an excuse to be allowed to use the few words that they aren't allowed to use and it's obvious at this point. because you can so easily educate without actually saying the word. there is no reason for a white person to say this word.
