Just spent 1 hour looking at Lopetegui at Sevilla(& Madrid) & here's the short version:

Firstly the false narrative here is that Lopetegui has fast tracked Sevilla into this tactical machine which clearly is absolute bollocks because without VAR, Lopetegui would be unemployed. https://twitter.com/P63hMyL3Sy3rHAT/status/1318932998146850820
I personally rate Lopetegui but even with 10+ new signings last year, Lopetegui didn't start from scratch(like Conte at Chelsea). His squad was built on a core of experienced players who understand the system like Banega(now Rakitic who's practically not a new signing)
But that's a different story to Madrid when he walked into a new team that played a different brand of football & had just lost their best player(CR7). Madrid couldn't score or defend, went on the worst drought since 2004, had BARCELONA fans chanting "Lopetegui please stay".
Contrast that to Lampard who albeit isn't as good a manager but has had to start from scratch twice, last year with a youth team, this year with literally a new squad. The argument is Lopetegui didn't have time at Madrid (understandably) but how's that different to Lampard?
Lopetegui (Monchi) have practically assembled a squad that already know the system, Lampard has Zouma, Azpi, etc doing counterpress (obviously there's other game preparation issues) but this Chelsea squad is also severely inexperienced + half of them are playing in a new league.
Fast forward a season later & Barcelona are celebrating 1-1 draws with Sevilla (just in case you thought Chelsea fans are deluded, we're not).

Hope this helps.
