lol today a contractor was over and misgendered me and my lifemate was like they use they/them pronouns and i saw PANIC in his eyes lol

and i was like he don't know what that is honey and she tried to explain and his eyes just got wider and wider

and i was like baby you can just use he/him for me, it's okay

and he was like oh okay i can do that!

he stumbled out: man i got younger cousins that got like.. gender & same sex ORIENTATIONS and they keep trying to correct me but i mess it all up!

i just love everyone and i don't mean no disrespect i'm just ignorant and don't understand =(

and i was like i totally get you, we are all good!

and i could just totally see that he really didn't want to disrespect and just didn't know HOW to say things right around me

hopefully i can help him understand some of the concepts while we're working together next week so he can make his cousins feel more comfy with him!

funny thing is 90% of people if i say oh you can just use he/him for me if it's easier will IMMEDIATELY start using they/them because it's not neopronouns confusing them, it's transphobia lmao

but this guy really was just confused so as soon as i gave him the binary option he was relieved and repeated my masculine name and my pronouns firmly and shook my hand again.
