I've been documenting this seizure recovery. I just feel like I should be making it public. I think people don't do it more because it's difficult but also kind of embarrassing... most people show their best on social media

For reference, here's a photo of me from last week
Photo from a few hours after my seizure, Monday night. I was doing much better, physically, than the time immediately after, since I was able to nap. Sleep always helps so much
The following morning I woke up with a splitting headache and stomach pain. Depression reeeally kicked in too. I spent all day in bed on the verge of sleep, but was too depressed and ruminate-y. I usually end up distracting myself online to avoid the emotional toll of recovery
I was able to create this masterpiece though
That night. I did manage to sleep for a few hours, and at that point was able to stand up without feeling too dizzy. Took advantage of that time to get ready for bed.
This morning I was finally able to take a shower!!! Last one was Sunday (day before my seizure) but recovery makes showers hard. I have to walk across my apartment just to stand up for too long, and the water is overstimulating. Will try to work today since I couldn't yesterday
Some types of seizures have very short recovery times, if any, and others have a few days of down time after. Depends on the person. Mine usually take about three days, or longer if I don't sleep well enough. And seizures love to mess with my sleep. Recovery is v up and down too
This is my first one since June. So I'm pretty bummed about it. But I did pass 100 days, and that's a record for me. I used to have at least one per month, and absence clusters daily. The lifestyle changes I've made in the last year have shown huge improvements. Baby steps.
