In my experience in NYC (2 presidentials, 3 primaries, 1 early voting), the BOE won& #39;t help you, so stop calling. Instead, you want to contact your State Assembly person or your district leader. Because of NYC& #39;s nepotistic rules, these people control who& #39;s staffed, but (at least in my case), they& #39;ve always been 10,000x more responsive than the BOE (shoutout @JoAnneSimonBK52 ). Mention that you& #39;re a constituent who& #39;s already been trained. If. . . (3/8)
You haven& #39;t been trained, it may be too late (I can& #39;t say for sure). Either way, you probably won& #39;t work Early Voting because these positions are in high-demand. Still, it& #39;s worth asking, though it requires an additional 2-hour class. However. . . (4/8)
I& #39;ve heard from some PWs who were able to do the training online. Again, the BOE is horrible at communicating, but your assembly rep / district leader likely knows. To add fuel to this dumpster fire. . . (5/8)
There are rules about how assembly members can communicate with PWs that QF I don& #39;t understand, so don& #39;t be put off if you get a weird response at first. If you& #39;re really feeling motivated. . . (6/8)
Go to your early voting site on Saturday and ask for the site coordinator. TBH they can be very hit or miss, but the good ones are really good. At the very least, they can probably suggest a contact. No matter what. . . (7/8)
