UNMASKING THE RSS/ RW ICONS:
VINAYAK DAMODAR SAVARKAR
"....but then I know also that every individual, however insignificant, is duty-bound to volunteer his or her best for the defence of that Kingdom.”
Excerpts from the man's , they like to call Veer, 3rd mercy petition.

Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, the poster boy of the Hindutva brigade, could not be faulted for one thing, that's rolling over when asked to bend. Each & every petition of his is an example of servility to the lowest extreme. But more of that later.
He started off as revolutionary.
+
He wrote 5 apology letters in all from Kalapani. A 6th was written by his wife. Each more cringeworthy than the previous one. But his fans & supporters like to paint these as a part of his "guerrilla" tactic to hoodwink the Empire. Laughable is too mild a word. Why? Let's see.
+
He was released on one condition, an undertaking to never participate in political activities. But if we examine his activities, post his release, closely, the Brits never really stopped him. Why? Because, in him, they'd found an able ally to counter the Congress & Gandhi ji.
+
His movement was a direct counter to INC's freedom movement. Not only that. He even pushed for recruiting Indians in the British Indian army to check the advance of Netaji's INA. Every step he took, every move of his was an enactment of the promises he made in his petitions.
+
We blame Jinnah for the partition. But who was the proponent of the 2 nation theory? Savarkar mocked Gandhi's version of Hindu-Muslim unity. And finally in 1937, the Mahasabha passed a resolution on 2 separate nations for Hindus & Muslims. This was later taken up by the League.
+
In fact, he was also willing to back a separate Sikhistan for the Sikhs. Just to check INC, he was willing to work with the League in different provinces. Needless to say, he did all this with the blessings of the Empire. He was resolutely following his promise of helping them.
+
He was truly a Lamb, lionised. Someone, who called himself a VEER in his biography, that he penned himself under a pseudonym. Gallant, he was definitely not. Because, if Savarkar was a VEER, that would dilute the meaning of the word GALLANT & a disservice to the martyrs.
