kirishima middle school head canons because im lowkey stuck in a writers block [will add on more whenever i can HAHAHAH]

1) kirishima's favorite food has always been meat! but as a kid he loved to get the strawberry shortcakes that would be sold on christmas. right now, though, he would look at the amount of sugar in it and wince.

2) kirishima wasn't directly... bullied in terms of fistfights. but he wasn't popular or anything either, in middle school. sometimes in hide and seek the other kids would forget about kirishima, and he'd stay hidden for several rounds, till the lunch hour bell would ring.

3) kirishima was asked out to the summer festival as a dare. the girl was really pretty, with a polkodot hairband and nail paint, and kirishima was really exited for it !!!! he had thanked her many times, loudly. he asked his mom to iron out his yukata weeks before the day !!!!!

he waited outside for the girl for five minutes. ten. half an hour.

his friend tomo nudged him, though, offered him a small strawberry shortcake pastry. and if he cried - he didn't, his eyes were just a tad bit warm - tomo didn't say a word about it.

4) his first kiss was behind on the schools emergency exit stairs. he doesn't remember much, except that tomo's lips were warm. he didn't know where his hands would go.

5) kirishima took out the fishbones before eating it, as a kid. now he takes them out his mouth.

6) his favorite kind of fireworks were the kind that you would bite and throw to the floor, and they'd explode loud enough for you to feel it in your chest !!!!

7) kirishima hated capers.

8) kirishima would spend sunday mornings opening apart a pomegranate and help his mom crack open a watermelon with his quirk.

9) he collected bakugan as a kid. he still has the little magnet thingies.

10) he used to be the kid with the bayblade stadium. that's partly why so many people played with him in the first place. he used to buy the defensive style metal rings and make sure his nibs were sharp enough to last through the game !!!!!

11) kirishima had an emo phase (LMFAOOOO THE THING IN TOKOYAMIS ROOM)

12) kirishima only likes math once he gets a hang of it all, when he has all the formulas written out beforehand and he understands what the fuck is going on.

13) he was assigned to do calligraphy once!!!! he spent hours perfecting /chivalry/ in kanji, making sure his brush's bristles were straight. his got hung out in the front of the class!!!! he was really proud of it, even though it wasn't that big of a deal.

14) he hated playing contact sports because he was scared he'd hurt someone. he was amazing at pitching in baseball though!!!!

15) he doesn't really have dreams all that much???? or maybe he doesn't remember them. he usually wakes in a cold start with his nightmares, and he can't remember much except that his heart is racing.

16) he loved to solve sudoku !!!!!!! he'd take too long though, and he'd never complete it

16) the teachers used to chose him for erasing the board at the end of the day

17) kirishima was really easily attached to pairs of jeans or shirts!!!! he would make sure he got his hands on them as soon as they were washed and he'd wear them at least three times before sending them off to wash again

18) he loves listening to music no matter what he's doing

19) tomo taught him how to do a double knot for his shoelaces

20) kirishima was always confused about what people meant when they said "19th century" and then "1800s" and was way too embarrassed to ask anyone

21) he wouldn't polish his shoes, ever, but then one day the principal caught him and called him out in front of the whole grade, and he flushed red. ever since then he always polished his shoes the night b4

22) he'd always forget to carry an umbrella and used to run through the rain and get his shoes all wet !!!

23) the one time he borrowed some manga from the school library he lost it. and he doesn't know where it went. he's still scared to face his librarian, even now that he's graduated

24) he doodles at the back of his notebooks and one time someone said they looked neat!!!!!!! he was really happy

25) he makes cards by hand for his family

26) every new year at the hatsumoude he asks for good health, strength, and the will to say the truth. and one time, he asked if tomo could kiss him just one more time before he graduated

27) tomo didn't kiss him. he did give his hand a warm squeeze, albeit awkwardly

28) when he was writing out and erasing different highschool names on his application form, he had used a red pen to write out his name. then he stared at the red ink of the pen, and in his peripheral, of his dark hair curtaining his eyes

29) he and tomo weren't ever really... together. they'd only kissed, and shared some warm moments where their eyes would catch. but kirishima still hoped for at least some kind of closure - not a break up, because they weren't joined in the first place, they couldnt BE broken

30) kirishima thinks about tomo a lot. sometimes when he thinks less and less of him, he almost feels bad, but then he doesn't, because he knows they were just first love. and first love burns hard and fast; it's just a passionate crush
