You know what they say: if, when you take your finger out of a glass of water, you leave a hole — then, you're indispensable.

@RealRLimbaugh is like that.

There are many fine talk show hosts, but there is only one Rush. NOBODY does what he does the way he does it.

1/
I've listened to Rush since 1988. I remember the first time I heard him, driving in the high desert of CA—this big, robust, cheerful voice saying things that absolutely no other person was saying in public. Speaking (in many ways) for me, like no other public voice was doing.

2/
Some of you may not be old enough to remember. But in the 80s and earlier 90s, Rush was IT. Rush WAS the voice of the resistance. Republicans were timid, limp, afraid of their own shadows, desperate to be liked by their Dem keepers. Rush WAS the voice of dissent.

3/
Others followed his lead. But make no mistake: Rush still leads. There's just one Rush. When th day comes that he's not here—years off, I hope—no one stands ready to fill that gap.

Perfect? No. Irritating? Sometimes. Flawed? Hello, have you met humanity?

Irreplaceable? Yes.

I've prayed for years for Rush to come to believe in Jesus. He has now said, in his recent report on his cancer ( https://bit.ly/3kiaGb7 ), that he has a "personal relationship with Jesus Christ." I take him at his word.

5/
Rush's brother @DavidLimbaugh is a solid Christian and a good brother in Christ. Rush would surely hear the truth of Christ from David. I take this as an answer to years of prayer.

6/
Thank God, Rush is still here, still bothering the life out of people who hate America and conservatives and Christians —like absolutely no one else can do. And I'm glad.

I just didn't want to have to say all this when it was too late to do other than say it sadly and late.
