I actually want to discuss sustainable and mindful lifestyles that consider cultural and social status of everyone 👉👈

But I'll start with addressing the Nabarima hazard in the Caribbean. It's important that we voice our concern of the hazards and the potential disaster. /1
We rely daily on the use of fuel, it's not just transport, cooking with a gas stove or keeping the heater on during these cold months. We use it to power our electricity too. It's a big step to take in keeping a close eye on our power usage: Stop leaving the lights on, /2
if you're not using it. Unplug your phone or device soon as it's done charging. Turn everything off when you leave. Consider how much you travel on a daily basis: C/should I walk/bike to my destination instead of taking public transport? On top of that, be mindful of the /3
products you consume. I understand that this might be a tad bit more difficult, but a lot of the products we use essentially are fabricated with the use of (fossil) fuel. In being mindful of these minor things, you'd contribute in the reduction of our ecological footprints, /4
preparing yourself for a future where fossil fuel is predicted to be exhausted and eventually help (or so we hope) break out of the vicious cycle of exploiting natural resources and the people that receive the short end in these circumstances. /5
What's also important is holding big corporate companies as well as local governmental bodies or authorative figures accountable for the exploitation (duh). We can do this by addressing our concerns with each other and encourage the community in continuing to do so. /6
You could also consider donating to local and small NGO's that w/could be involved in disaster management or look into how else you could support them. Take into consideration that disaster management not only concerns the environment, but also communities residing in the /7
are of the disaster. Especially coastal communities whose livelihood(s) are threatened.

My tips may not directly tackle the situation of Nabarima, but I do hope that I have informed you on how our (increasing) daily demands play a role in the circumstance. /8
In raising awareness, please continue to share and sign petitions to get the authorities' attention and get stakeholders involved to timely create an adequate disaster management measure to help mitigate an anticipated disaster or otherwise help counter it. /9
Some interesting tip I read the other day is de-cluttering your cloud. It's apparently quite power consuming to store memory, since it's still being stored physically by companies offering these services. I'm not entirely sure of this, but it wouldn't hurt. đŸ€·â€â™€ïž
