There's been a lot of misconceptions and misplaced anger in regards to the £14.95 fee charge for Premier League Games.
In particular people actually public defending the £14.95 charge.... so lets look at some facts:
In particular people actually public defending the £14.95 charge.... so lets look at some facts:
- Last week the PL Chiefs had a meeting with all of the PL owners and gave them 2 options.
Option 1 = 50% are not shown anywhere.
Option 2 = £14.95 PPV model.
- The owners voted 19 - 1 in favour of the PPV model, the thought being having something instead of nothing.

- The Broadcasters dictated the price NOT the PL, so the likes of SKY & BT are the ones driving the price.
- One of the reasons defending the £14.95 PPV was the uses of multiple cameras, set up and crew cost. The same camera crew that're used for MOTD?
(There's no extra cost)

- Let's take Burnley fans as an example, usually they're televised 6-8 times per season. So 4 max at home per season. That means 15 home games that due to COVID they can't attend, now are being told it's £14.95 per time, £224.25 overall.
Let's total up an annual cost for the average Burnley season ticket holder this season trying to watch all the games:
PL PPV = £224.25
Season pass= £380 (cheapest)
Sky Subscription = £300 per year
BT Sports Subscription = £300 per year (ish)
Total = £1204.25
PL PPV = £224.25
Season pass= £380 (cheapest)
Sky Subscription = £300 per year
BT Sports Subscription = £300 per year (ish)
Total = £1204.25

Over the 19 homes games that works out to be £63.38 PER GAME.
The obvious option here is not to buy it, and in millions NOT doing so let's hope that there's a "change of heart" by SKY, BT and the Premier League.
Football is once again taking the piss out of it's punters.
