Quite the extraordinary intervention from the usually sedate world of Channel Islands politics

(And I love the sudden and polite 'Thank You' at the end) https://twitter.com/GaryBurgessCI/status/1316772704587067394
Only this government would seek to fight an unwinnable war on two fronts: the North and the Channel Islands
nb

Jersey and Guernsey not part of the United Kingdom and were not part of the European Union

(They came over with Duchy of Normandy in 1066)

Relationship with UK constitutionally complex

It seems UK now treating Channel Islands in way UK complained it was being treated by EU
And it must be said that in that video the Jersey external relations minister @Ian_Gorst is more on top of the relevant detail and is more eloquent than one can remember any UK cabinet minister being
Just checked with a Jersey lawyer and the video is quite right

And it is a perfect micro-example of this government blithe arrogance and lack of attention to detail on Brexit

To try to casually steal Jersey's territorial waters without realising Jersey can actually say 'No'
Usually, those facing this government's blithe arrogance and lack of attention to detail on Brexit are not in the constitutional position to say 'No'

And that is the real difference
