THREAD ON NAWAZ SHARIF’S “Ideology” or the LACK THEREOF

In case it wasn’t already obvious, Nawaz Sharif is and can never be a revolutionary, a refomer, or even a torchbearer of civilian supremacy. Let’s take a look at a bit of history to understand why..

In 2015, NS pushed AAZ to confront the estab. who took the bait and NS peaced out. AAZ had to spend rest of Raheel Sharif’s tenure in exile 🤣
In 2011, NS donned a black suit (ایڈووکیٹ ڈھلوں نے کالا کوٹ ائویں نئ پایا) and appeared in the SC for Memogate @ the behest of the estab.
It’s also very helpful to understand NS’s mindset if we see him as basically a “seth”; he has always considered politics as an extension of his business and fundamentally believes in running both spheres in much the same way. Why do I say that?

Just as a seth can offer a decent position to his brother/nephew but can never allow them to inherit the business, SS/Hamza can never take over PMLN. Similarly, employees like Shahid Khaqan can be interim general managers at best but never be owners of the business!

NS’s seth-like antics extend to his governance model. Like a seth hires/fires, promotes/demotes ppl with impunity, NS ran Pak the same way. His seth-like dictatorial tendencies explain his clashes with institutions (see Mush’s dismissal, attack on SC + countless other eg.)

His recent “revolutionary”, Altaf-esque addresses are only an attempt to pressurize the estab. and salvage a minimally acceptable deal. If you still think he’s following in the footsteps of Mandela and Che, I can only pray for a cure to your “Magnificent Delusions”!
