So what are we enabling? :-) Our technology makes it possible for multiple parties, each with isolated datasets that they cannot share or disclose, to train joint ML models.

Parties can be different organisations, with a common interest in a model (e.g. a language model) and each having unique datasets that are sensitive or private. Together they can build a model that generalizes better.

But it could also be a provider of a scientific instrument that wants to create smart software to support it, leveraging data from all deployments, even though they do not own that data (the customer does). The software improves for every installation.

The underlying technology is Federated Learning and we are putting it in production, using our long experience and expertise in distributed computing research. #fedml

In the bigger picture and in the long-term, we want to contribute to enabling a safer, privacy-aware industry where we should not have to choose between our right to our own data and progress on the utilization of ML/AI. #privacyandsecurity
